The role of teaching excellence and industry and societal impact work on academic selection and promotion

Do you have an opinion on this? Here’s your chance to have your say.

The Royal Academy of Engineering, supported by the EPC, is conducting a study which is looking primarily at how universities recognise and reward staff for teaching excellence in engineering, but also looks at how other activities such as knowledge transfer and public engagement (industry and societal impact) are recognised and rewarded too. Understanding your views on this topic is very important. We aim to use the findings to promote improvements in the support for, and recognition of, high quality teaching, learning and knowledge transfer and public engagement activity in engineering.

You may complete the questionnaire online here:https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RoyalAcademyStudyv1. It should take no more than 10 minutes. The study is anonymous, but if you’d care to start a debate on the forum too, post your views here…
